Why We Launched The Love Collection: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Skylar was founded on a basic principle: to empower women and make them feel good in their own bodies.

Since our launch in 2017, our mission has stayed the same. We believe that all women deserve to have products that are beautiful, reliable and natural. Over the last year, we've received countless messages from our Skylar community telling us about their diagnosis, journey and how they found Skylar in their search for natural alternatives. Inspired by these amazing women, we're dedicating this October to love. Specifically, we've developed a special love collection in honor of breast cancer awareness. For every bottle sold, we are donating $10 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Breast Cancer Research founded has been at the forefront of funding critical research for cancer research. Their focus spans across various departments on Breast Cancer. Biology, treatment, metastasis. Between 2018-2019, BCRF awarded $63 million dollars in grants to 300 top scientists around the world. As the first non-profit to introduce the pink ribbon, BCRF has been dedicated to funding advances in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, metastasis and survivorship.

They have even started introducing community programs. Play for P.I.N.K. fundraisers (Prevention, Immediate Diagnosis, New Technology and Knowledge) is a grassroots program for community members to get involved and raise funding through special sporting, lifestyle and other community events. Play for P.I.N.K has not only strengthened the community, it has provided thousands of women a network of to turn to for support, guidance, and mentorship. Play for P.I.N.K has been raising funds throughout 28 states and has gathered more than $48 million for lifesaving research.

A primary focus of their research is on metastatic cancer cells. Metastatic cancer is the spreading of cancer cells into different parts of the body. The reasons why cancerous cells spread in still unknown.  Without understanding the root causes of the spread, treatment options are limited and often ineffective. Stopping the spread of cancer is critical and extremely important. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation not only targets funding for research in this field but encourages others to do the same. 90% of donations BCRF receives goes to breast cancer research, treatment programs, tumor biology, and lifestyle and prevention.

Our Skylar Love Collection

Each bottle contains a unique rose quartz crystal. No two crystals are the same.

As a woman-founded, women-run brand, Breast Cancer is something that has impacted many of our loved ones, our family members and our own Skylar community. We have been honored to be included in our customers journeys in the tiniest of ways by offering clean fragrances. But for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to do more. To give love back and show our support for our community and their journeys, we crafted a perfume collection with a real rose quartz inside each Love perfume bottle.
